The Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is headquartered in Scott County and encompasses more than 115,000 acres in Scott, Fentress, Morgan and Pickett counties in Tennessee and McCreary County, Kentucky.

Established in 1974, the Big South Fork has become one of the Southeast’s premier destinations for whitewater boaters and horseback riders, featuring more than 200 miles of trails and several river access points.
